Fitness, Conditioning And Self - Defence

Here the page many of you have been waiting for. This is where we are going to take a little better look at some of the different training mechanism we use here at  look at  PowerLine Combat Sport Fitness and Self- Defence.

From our self-defense to our combat conditioning, physical attribute development and street strength programs, all of PowerLine's training programs are based on scientific realities. Not fancy gimicks or high tech toys.

Scientific Reality #1

We must begin with a universal assumption that, at the basic level, we are all the same basic organism. That from the physiological perspective, the human organism deals with stressors in a very predictable manner; it adapts, it overcomes, or it does not...

This manner of adaptation, especially to specific stressors, like physical ones, is also universal and predictable. Our anatomical design is the same; our parts all move the same way.

This fact leads us to:

The General Adaptation Syndrome

  • Alarm: Acute response to stimulus. This can include soreness, stiffness, and possible drop off in initial performance levels.
  • Resistance (adaptation): Chronic system response to stimulus. This can include increases in lean body mass (LBM) and strength, and decreases in body fat percentages.
  • Exhustion (Fatigue): Lack of ability by the system to respond. This can lead to over-training, staleness, and persistent decrements in preformance.
The Third Stage Is The One We Want To Avoid !!!

Video #1 : Metabolic Power Endurance, or (MPE)

The structual principle behind this routine as well as the vast majority of the program planning I do for my clients as well as myself is designing matrix's that allows us to work the entire body while loading one region and unloading another. Matrix designs can be used for all training modalities; conditioning, strength, hypertrophy, or metabolic power and are excellent for combat conditioning or combat sport conditioning.

Video #2 :  Leg Burners

Leg burners are exactly that and can be done with body weight as well as extra external resistance mechanism's. They're classification is functional (general) and can be fined tuned in order to create special or specific exercise's, as well as integrated into any matrix environment as individual or multiple leg components.

Video # 3: Super Power Black & Blue

This is a three drill sequence that is used in my physical attribute development system, which can be found at the Propowerfit.com training materials link or the PAD1 link.

  1. Heavy Bag | Sand Bag deadlift and suflexs is a great total body workout and can be done with superbands, dummies, sand bags, heavy bags or combination of.
  2. Tire drill is excellent for developing muscles of the feet, tendons of the ankles, the satturius muscles of the inner thigh, and increasing independent bio-motor abilities for coordinated or individual hip rotation.
  3.  We finisihed it off with a heavy bag round  of stright punches both with a drop step, step and whirl. Although the straight punch with the whirl is considered a straight punch, in the technical sense it is neither straight nor pure as you striking knuckles are indeed going in a different direction than your body and the power line is no longer intact nor straight.

By the by ignore the extremesuperpowerpunching.net domain name - that is an old site of mine that is no longer functional. You can find the above material on the established links at the top of the page in the header.

Video #4 - Self -Defense
Bare Knuckle Essential's #1

OK, now we are going to start to get into the good stuff here. This video was shot during a Sunday training session between myself and my good friend Dan S.  Notice the contrast style's (done purposely) between my movements and Dan's.

Both of us were stepping but only one of us was turning (me) we did this in order to show you the difference between what some are doing today, what very few are doing today, and what used to be done by all pulgilist

Bare Knuckle Essentials is designed to make you think and also give you a sort of sneak preveiw of what we are covering in this particular DVD series. In upcoming releases you will see stand up grappling, punching combinations, different body movements, entries and in-fighting, aggresive and attacking defensive counters and old style takedowns that have been banded from sports but are perfect and deadly on the street.
